ArthroStim & VibraCussor
A light force instrument assisted adjustment
Our office utilizes this instrument to help assist him in adjusting patients who require a more delicate touch. In fact, we frequently use the instrument on acute conditions, children and the elderly. This type of instrument adjusting is great for those who might not handle the traditional chiropractic adjustment. There is no twisting when this technique is used. Benefits include an increase in joint motion, stimulation of nerve fibers (mechanoreceptors) which promote a feeling of wellbeing and reduce pain. The ArthroStim Instrument produces a controlled-force, high velocity thrusts in a short period of time.
The unique short stroke recoiling thrusts produced by the ArthroStim activate a patient’s mechanoreceptors and proprioceptors, without recruiting the pain receptors (nociceptors). The input created by the ArthroStim truly produces a barrage of afferent impulses, which the central nervous system can use to update its ‘neural image’ of target areas. By utilizing the same mechanisms that the nervous system naturally uses to control biomechanics, corrections can be achieved using reduced forces.
This permits the ArthroStim to be used in a variety of applications ranging from pediatric adjusting – to its current utilization in professional sports teams.
